About Tuppan Consultants LLC

Tuppan Consultants provides innovative cost-effective solutions to complex environmental problems in the Western United States.

Eric J. Tuppan is a registered geologist who founded the company in March 2003 to consolidate his technical expertise, project management and professional connections that began in 1983. Mr. Tuppan’s creative talent is his effective communication of sustainable outcomes based on what science can prove with what resources are available economically, politically, and technologically.

Mr. Tuppan often collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of scientists (e.g., engineers specializing in remediation, landfill design or restoration; toxicologists; and biologists) to address the client’s specific needs. As a small private company, Tuppan Consultants offers its expert professional services at a lower cost compared to larger firms. We successfully complete projects on time, within budget and at the highest standard of care under the demands of multiple stakeholders and agencies, inter-tangled regulations and multi-million dollar budgets.

Tuppan Consultants represents individuals, commercial and industrial businesses both domestic and international, and governmental entities.

Eric J. Tuppan

Eric is the principal owner of Tuppan Consultants LLC.

He oversees assessment, characterization and remediation of large scale projects such as industrial plants, manufacturing sites, commercial properties, landfills, and wood-products facilities.  Eric designs, coordinates, and supervises Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Studies (RI/FS), including work plans and quality assurance documents, water quality monitoring programs, data analysis, and technical report preparation. He conducts Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDAs). Other areas of practice include stormwater, ecological restoration, wetland mitigation, mining, and tribal water resources.

The technical reports authored by Eric stand as comprehensive key plans for all concerned parties, in particular federal, state, and local regulatory agencies who time and time again rely heavily on Eric's analysis, conclusions and recommendations.

Eric provides expert witness opinion and testimony. His effectiveness in resolving issues comes from his seasoned practical experience, science acumen, and humility. Clients benefit from the millions of dollars Eric saves them with defensible and sustainable outcomes. A typical example is assigning adjacent property holders primary responsibility for environmental contamination or allocating to other parties the costs of remedial cleanup.

Beginning his professional career as a petroleum exploration geologist in 1983, Eric quickly expanded to environmental science in its grassroots era. Eric's early work at environmental companies included project management and coordinating office and company resources for geology and solid waste divisions.  Eric has presented at national technical conferences. Future goals involve international efforts to enhance water quality and resources for developing communities.

Together with his wife, Sheree Tuppan, who serves as the company's in house counsel, Eric enjoys family adventures with their sons Max and Sam, playing classical guitar, travel by road cycling, slow cooking, Rick Bass novels, and quiet waterways.
